The Archos 8o G9 is a lightweight, compact and beautiful tablet. The display on this device is one of the many reasons it is so simple and easy to use. This tablet provides a simple user interface and an Android operating system. It features several applications to enhance the device. But overall, this Archos device excels at being an ideal device for connecting to the internet and gaming.

Archos designed specific multimedia applications to the Archos 8o G9 to make this device a true multimedia tablet. The applications provide for easy browsing through music and videos. The device comes with built-in photo, music and video features. These features include up to 250GB of HD video playback and the Good Vibrations music application which includes 3D album art for easy browsing through music. Depending on the type of media used, you can add thumbnails to your menu for easy access into your features.

A webcam is located on the device for easy communication. The device is also ideal for gaming opportunities. It features an OpenGL 3D graphic accelerator and g-sensor to provide you with fast and responsive gaming. We found the gaming easy to use and the images were clear. We just wish we would have had a larger display screen to enhance the overall experience.

This device uses the Android 4.0 operating system. This operating system is designed to make internet connectivity and email quick and powerful. The Android user interface contains five main menus for easy navigation.

With its TV output, you can display everything that is on your tablet screen, on the TV. We liked this feature and found it enjoyable to surf the internet on the large TV screen or view photos and video. The Archos 8o G9 also has the ability to connect a keyboard to the device through the USB port or the Bluetooth connection. Also, the USB port makes transferring files to and from a PC simple and easy.

This tablet is one of the lightest devices we saw, weighing only 1.1 pounds. We liked the lightweight design and it made the portability of the device increase significantly. The tablet is also design with a leg stand which allows the device to stand upright on its own. We found the stand to be a welcomed feature and it made the Archos 8o G9 more PC friendly.

The 8-inch display screen wasn’t the largest screen we had seen and we wish it was a little larger. It also provided 1024 x 768 screen resolution. Although this was high-definition display, this resolution still allowed for crisp images but nothing compared to the top three products we reviewed.

One of our favorite features available on the Archos 8o G9 is the ability for customization. Using the Android 4.0 operating system, users are able to customize their main menus. You can organize applications and programs on the five main menus any way you would like.
