The BlackBerry Playbook is a tablet designed for the business professional. This device offers superb multitasking capabilities, excellent multimedia features and a fast processor. With the Playbook you can accomplish all your work – even on the go. It runs the BlackBerry operating system, so if you’re already familiar with the interface, you won’t have any difficulty navigating around this computing device.

This tablet provides all the features you need to accomplish your work quickly and efficiently. Multitasking is simple; you can open several apps at once and switch back and forth between them with no hassle and without any lag time. There is a music player and GPS navigation, and it is Adobe Flash 11.2 enabled.

Aside from the business features, there are several multimedia features to keep you entertained. A 3MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera are available on this BlackBerry tablet. There are better cameras on the best tablets; however, these are comparable to the average tablets on the market. Video calling is also available, and you can view video in full HD 1080p.

A drawback to the BlackBerry Playbook is that it doesn’t offer as large of a selection of applications as Android or Apple devices do. There still is a large selection to choose from, but it is much more limited in variety and quality. If downloading apps is important to you, you may want to check out their selection and make sure BlackBerry offers the apps you want before purchasing the device.

This tablet runs on a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. The device possesses a small amount of lag time after keys are pressed or while programs are opening. This product doesn’t meet our full expectations with the processor because it isn’t as fast as several similar devices, even with its advanced multitasking capabilities. We'd like to see BlackBerry update the Playbook to a quad-core processor to make it the best tablet for business professionals.

You can purchase the Playbook with 32 or 64GB of memory. The amount of memory you should purchase depends upon the amount of data you intend on storing on your device. If you plan to store a significant number of documents, movies, photos and music, you will want a large amount of storage.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are two models of this BlackBerry tablet. You can get one with just Wi-Fi access, which comes with the option of 32GB or 64GB of storage. The other BlackBerry model comes with only 32GB of storage, but you can access Wi-Fi, and it has 4G LTE capabilities.

The BlackBerry Playbook is a handsome tablet with a sleek design. This device is 5.1 inches long, 7.6 inches wide and only 0.4 inches thick. On top of that, it weighs less than a pound. It has small dimensions, which increases its portability, but the small size also means a small display screen. The touchscreen display measures only 7 inches with 1024 x 600 screen resolution. It is small enough that viewing movies or video chatting tend to be less impressive than with a larger tablet. Browsing the internet and typing are also slightly harder on a small screen.

The BlackBerry Playbook has a multitouch screen, so you navigate the device using only your fingers. There is no stylus or digital pen. Your fingers do all the swiping, tapping, clicking and dragging on the tablet, which makes for a tactile, sensory experience.

BlackBerry Playbook Summary:
6.1/10

The BlackBerry Playbook offers a wide range of features to make your job easier, especially if you are constantly on the go. Wi-Fi and 4G LTE capabilities, excellent multitasking, video calling and Adobe Flash support are just a few of the features that enhance this tablet. Even though this tablet is geared towards business, it doesn’t shy away from multimedia features, including a strong music player and dual cameras.
